Fort Stewart Color Casing

Fort Stewart -

Soldiers at Fort Stewart continue to play a major role in Supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
This morning the Fourth Infantry Brigade Combat Team began the first step toward a nine month deployment to Afghanistan.
A military tradition was held at Fort Stewart's Cottrell Field.
The casing of colors signifies the unit's readiness for deployment.
The soldiers will provide support and training to the Afghan national security forces.
"I don't think there's anybody more prepared again.  We've known what the requirements were.  We know what the tasks are ahead of us.  It has been in fluctuation about the numbers, but that was very easily handled.  We're a flexible enough unit to do that," says Colonel Kimo Gallahue.
About 22 hundred Fourth Infantry Brigade Soldiers are expected to deploy to Afghanistan later this month.
