Suspected Cocaine Dealer Cornered At Bus Station

SAVANNAH, GA -

The following was released Friday by the Chatham-Savannah Counter Narcotics team:

"One man is in custody following an investigation conducted by the Chatham-Savannah Counter Narcotics Team (CNT).

Earlier this month, CNT in a working partnership with Savannah-Chatham Metro Police began looking into a suspected drug smuggler said to be bringing large amounts of cocaine into to the Savannah-Chatham area.  CNT Agents working in an undercover capacity identified the potential suspect as 27-year-old Jonathan Jamall Anderson of Guyton.

Early yesterday afternoon, CNT Agents confirmed Anderson was headed back to the Savannah-Chatham area from Atlanta on a Grayhound Bus.  Agents met the unsuspecting Anderson at the bus station and found approximately nine ounces of cocaine in his possession.  Anderson was taken into custody and charged with Trafficking Cocaine.

Anderson remains at the Chatham County Detention Center following his arraignment in the Recorder's Court of Chatham County, Georgia earlier today where he did not receive a bond.

The seized cocaine has an estimated street value of up to $14,400."
