One organization that has been helping paint a brighter picture for young people in our area got some help from local artists Thursday night. Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Coastal Empire held "A Little Art Show" at ThincSavannah with all of the proceeds going to benefit BBBS.
More than 80 artists, pros and amateurs, took part. BBBS provided the canvas and the artists did the rest—painting pictures that were then donated back to the organization to sell. The paintings that were not sold can still be purchased. They will be on display at the United Way building on Bull Street.
Big Brothers Big Sisters is a donor and volunteer supported mentoring program for youth, providing needed support to children in our local community through professionally supported one-to-one relationships. There is a great need for male mentors especially. If you would like more information, call Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Coastal Empire at (912) 233-7669 or look them up online http://www.bbbscoastalempire.org/
