A woman was transported to the hospital Wednesday evening after her car ended up in a drainage canal on Wilshire Blvd.
The Savannah Fire and EMS Services Battalion Chief, Thad Dixon, said emergency crews arrived on the scene just after 7 p.m. finding the woman trapped in her car.
Dixon said the back side window of the car was busted out allowing EMS to get the woman on a spine board and pull her out. The woman was conscious talking to paramedics the whole time.
The water in the drainage canal is about a foot and a half deep. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
