"We are, we are, for, and I hope I'm speaking for our council. Gun control."
Those were the words of Savannah Mayor Edna Jackson at Tuesday night's State of the City address.
The Mayor told News 3 she is backing the U.S. Conference of Mayors going on record in favor of gun control.
Jackson says she wants to look at their resolution, and tailor any possible bill to Savannah.
The question remains, does Mayor Jackson believe any gun control proposal make it past council?
"I don't know. I really don't know," Mayor Jackson told News 3's Andrew Davis. "I can't say. I have not sought it. At this time I would like to have an instrument in front of us to see what we can and can't do, and hopefully we can."
