People in need of health care in Wake County have a place to go, thanks to the Open Door Clinic of Urban Ministries of Wake County.

That Open Door Clinic is the beneficiary of this year's Band Together concert. Band Together holds a concert every year to support a local charity.

The B-52s are the headline act for the concert Saturday, May 12, at Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary. Also playing will be BIG Something and Southern Culture on the Skids.

Urban Ministries of Wake County has been serving low-income people in the market since 1981. Urban Ministries has multiple efforts, including help for homeless women and a food pantry, but its major focus is the Open Door Clinic.

"The Open Door Clinic sees adult patients who are low income and uninsured," Anne Burke, executive director of Urban Ministries, said Thursday morning on NBC-17 Today.

"We provide primary care in a medical home setting."

People can get prescription medications in addition to seeing doctors at the Open Door Clinic.

"They don't have health care in any other area," Burke said.

Tickets to the concert are available at the Band Together website. The proceeds go to support the Open Door Clinic.

And NBC-17 is having a contest where you can win two free tickets – and meet the band. You can enter the contest here.
