SAVANNAH, GA -
Funeral services for a well known philanthropist and Savannah pastor were held Saturday.
The Christian Revival Center was packed as family and friends came together to pay their respects to Pastor Freddie Hebron.
The 64-year-old passed away Monday.
Pastor Hebron was not only a community servant but also was an advocate for the people of Haiti.
During the service other pastors in the area reflected on the many lives Pastor Hebron touched and all the good memories he leaves behind.
"Our faith says it is our mission to serve the least and the lost and Pastor Hebron was gifted and awesome in making that a reality. Often times people that are lost and are hurting don't feel welcome by the church, don't always feel loved, because of the condition they are in but Pastor Hebron with that great big smile loved you unconditionally," said Margaret Williams.
"He was not about who got what, who can provide what to the church, he was all about making a difference in somebody else's life and through that you can see how many people, the church is full, front, back, outside. People are standing outside you can't even find parking," said Ebenezer Ansah.
The Christian Revival Center isn't letting its grief get in the way of continuing the work of its beloved pastor. It will continue Pastor Hebron's weekly soup kitchen and clothes giveaway.
