There's new hope tonight that a looming school bus drivers strike will be averted in Beaufort County. Teamsters Local 509 announced this evening that they will return to the bargaining table Monday to continue negotiations with the drivers' employer, Durham School Services.
In a news release, Teamsters say progress has been made since union members voted to authorize a strike if needed-- which could have caused a major disruptions for parents, kids, and school officials in Beaufort County.
About 11,000 of Beaufort County's 20,000 students take the bus.
