One last front on the way, turning cooler late week

Updated:
GREENVILLE, N.C. - Good evening, everyone. I'm Chief Meteorologist Jerry Jackson. Here's your First Alert forecast:

TONIGHT:  Mainly quiet weather is expected this evening, but clouds will be with us. A few isolated showers are possible, but the activity should remain light. Overnight temperatures will drop into the 60's.

TUESDAY:  An approaching front will bring a slight chance of showers/storms Tuesday. We will still see enough sunshine to reach the mid 80's.

MID-WEEK:  Once the front pushes offshore, we should enjoy a refreshing taste of autumn weather. Mainly dry conditions are expected Thursday through Saturday, with comfortable temperatures near 80.

TROPICS: Hurricane Edouard continues intensify in the open Atlantic, but the storm will never threaten the east coast of the United States. Elsewhere, tropical storm formation is not expected in the next 48 hours. For a complete tropical update, visit the WNCT 9 First Alert Hurricane Center by clicking HERE.
