Bluffton Man Killed in Fire

UPDATE: Victim identified as 55-year-old, John Porzio of Bluffton.

Update:News 3's Brittany Shane spoke with neighbor, Matthew Andrews. Andrews along with Porzio's brother, Charlie, tried to save Porzio from the fire, but was not able to save his friend.

"I heard him screaming and I took off running over there. I saw the flames and he was trying to get the front door open, I was trying to get the back door open, tried to get my hand tint here and get the latch undone. I took a piece of steel and tried to get it in there and couldn't get it open.Thigns started going off, ammunition started going off, the propane tank started going up, I fell off the ladder, it was that bad, and it was just Charlie and I doing the best we could do."

Authorities say one man is dead following a house fire in Bluffton. The fire happened around 12:00 on Alljoy road. Neighbors tell WSAV.com they heard the man screaming for help, but they were not able to save him.

The fire started in a camping trailer behind a home.

Fire crews remain on the scene now investigating the death and the fire.
