10 Most Wanted Child Support Violators Named

SAVANNAH, GA – The Chatham County Office of Child Support Enforcement today released the “10 Most Wanted Child Support Violators” poster, as part of the Office of the District Attorney’s effort to vigorously enforce court support orders and prosecute child support offenders.

The top 10 offenders, of which two have recently been arrested, represent $256,331.62, in child support and interest due to 15 children, as of the release of this information and include:
● Sherman Scott: $87,102.30 for three children
● Waltrell Ervin: $16,315.67 for one child
● Donald Fitzsimmons: $5,421 for one child
● Michael Lawler: $37,713.74 for one child
● Tony Mathis: $23,371.29 for one child (apprehended 4/16/09)
● Melissa Atkins: $22,315.06 for two children
● Eric Sanders: $22,131.82 for one child
● Latoya Chisholm: $1,867.98 for one child
● Keith Wiggins: $24,514.97 for two children
● Ronald Roach: $15,577.79 for two children (apprehended 4/07/09)

Since the beginning of this year, 171 parents have been arrested by Child Support investigators and local police for failure to pay child support or failure to appear at a child support hearing. A total of 402 parents were arrested in 2008 for failure to pay child support or failure to appear for a hearing.

From January – March in 2008 and in 2009, the Office of Child Support Enforcement collected more than $three million dollars each year and a total of $30 million six hundred and seventy eight dollars ($30,678,000) in 2008.
