TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. (AP) - Tybee Island police say they confiscated drugs and guns and made several arrests Friday and yesterday as the second straight weekend of the unofficial Orange Crush spring break gathering got underway. Tybee Police Chief Bob Bryson said officers seized methamphetamine, marijuana, crack and pills as well as seven guns.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) - Business owners in Augusta are hoping that a new public safety unit will change a perception some people have that the city's downtown area is dangerous. The plan unveiled by the Richmond County sheriff includes a new unit made up of certified deputies and community safety officers.

ATLANTA (AP) - Tuition for some online college courses in Georgia will drop for the first time this fall. Georgia officials approved the change this week and say it is part of an effort to increase the number of Georgians with college degrees. The cost for fall classes will drop $20, to $169 per credit hour.

LOCUST GROVE, Ga. (AP) - Police have identified a woman killed when her car collided with a train in Henry County as 52-year-old Connie Gauthier. Georgia State Patrol officials said Gauthier died Friday afternoon, after they said she drove her Mercury Cougar into the path of an oncoming train.
