Severe Thunderstorm Warnings until 8p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING until 8p.m. for the following counties:  Effingham, Screven, Hampton and Jasper.

There’s a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing penny size hail, damaging winds in excess of 60mph, heavy rain and frequent lightning.

Heat Advisory Cancelled

The Heat Advisory for our area has been cancelled by the National Weather Service.

Heat indices will stay below 105 degrees this evening. 

Severe Thunderstorm Warnings

The National Weather Service has issued a SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING for the following counties:  Liberty, Long, and Tattnall.

This is in effect until 6:15p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING until 6:15p.m. for the following counties:  Bryan, Chatham, Liberty & McIntosh.

There’s a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing penny size hail, damaging winds in excess of 60mph, heavy rain and frequent lightning.

Severe Thunderstorm Warnings in Effect

The National Weather Service has issued a SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING for McIntosh County until 5:15 and Ware County until 6p.m.

These thunderstorms are capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60mph, penny size hail, heavy rain and frequent lightning.

Heat Advisory is in effect until 8p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a HEAT ADVISORY for the following counties:  Candler, Bulloch, Effingham, Bryan, Chatham, Jasper, Beaufort, Coastal Jasper, Tattnall, Evans, Long, Liberty and McIntosh.

A hot and humid airmass will persist over the area late this afternoon.  High temperatures in the mid to upper 90s combined with moderate humidity levels will produce heat index values of 105 to 110 degrees across portions of the area.  Heat index values are expected to drop below 105 shortly after sunset.
