Your votes last year became a reality today with the swearing in of a new congress.

After winning the runoff last month, Georgia Senator Saxby Chambliss took the oath alongside Delaware’s Joe Biden.

Biden will hold his seat until he becomes the vice president on January 20th.

The swearing in was conducted by Vice President Dick Cheney.

On the house side, 54 freshmen house members and two freshmen delegates took the oath.
