A Delta Air Lines spokesman says a man aboard a
flight from Moscow to Atlanta was so unruly that the plane had to
make an unscheduled stop in Canada.
Spokesman Susan Elliott says the passenger was taken into
custody by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police after landing at
Gander International Airport in Newfoundland.
She did not identify the passenger or describe what he did to
make the captain decide to divert the plane.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports the plane was carrying
206 passengers when it left Moscow early Sunday. It landed at
Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International airport at about 10
p.m., some four hours behind schedule.
