POOLER, Ga. (WSAV) - Authorities have identified the victims of a fatal accident that occurred Wednesday on Interstate 95.
Jesup residents Matthew Zeeb, 28, and Ashton Temple Frierson, 27, were killed in the crash.
The accident occurred at the start of the rush hour. Authorities were on the roadway for nearly four hours clearing the scene.
A Georgia State Patrol trooper said the driver ran off of the road and hit a post south of mile marker 98. They said the accident was not weather-related.
The crash caused major delays on the roadway between Richmond Hill and Pooler (Highway 204 and I-16).
Authorities originally reported I-95 northbound was closed but later clarified that only one lane of traffic was shut down.
