Special event parking will begin Friday, March 16th, 5pm; the rate will be $10.00 per day until Sunday, March 18th, in all garages.

City Parking Garages

In order to guarantee monthly cardholders a parking space parking will be limited. Thursday, March 15th, parking will be available to cardholders only. Friday, March 16th, parking will be available to cardholders only until 5:00pm. Parking will be open to the public beginning at 5:00pm, Friday, March 16.

Vehicular entry into ALL garages will be prohibited from 1:00am until 7:00am, during the festival.

Visitor's Center Lot

The Visitors Center lot will be available for parking at 6:30 a.m. on Sat., March 17. Vehicles parking before 6:30 a.m. will be cited. The parking fee is $10.00 per vehicle.

Parking is limited for RV's and Motor Coaches during the festival. Beginning Thur., March 15, RV's and Motor Coaches will be permitted to park for the festival; the parking fee is $10.00 per day. Parking passes can be purchased Thur., March 15, for the weekend festival. Please see the Parking Attendant in the control booth at the exit gate.

If an RV/Motor Coach or a vehicle leaves during the festival, their parking space is not guaranteed. Please park properly to avoid being cited. Please put all trash in the trash receptacles.

Civic Center Lot

The Civic Center Lot will be closed to the public due to staging for the parade.

On-Street Parking

Parking is prohibited in the marshaling areas and on the parade route. Parking meters in these areas will be bagged the night before. Areas without meters will be barricaded. Vehicles parked in the prohibited zones will be towed beginning at 6:00am on parade day.

Available, on-street, metered parking will be free Saturday and Sunday, March 17 & 18.


Enjoy a hassle-free St. Patrick’s Day this year – ride the shuttle. For only $5 per adult for a round-trip ticket (children under 41 inches tall are free - limit two per paying customer) parade-goers can board the shuttle and have a stress-free ride downtown.

Tickets will ONLY be sold at the Oglethorpe Mall shuttle pickup under the parking deck outside J.C. Penney’s, and will be available March 17 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Shuttles will leave from Oglethorpe Mall starting at 7:30 a.m. and take riders to the corner of Houston and Oglethorpe Streets. Returning shuttles will pick up passengers from Houston and Oglethorpe until 5 p.m.

All items (cooler, chairs, strollers, etc) to be taken on the trolley must fit under your seat or on your lap. No alcohol or disorderly conducted allowed onboard. Wheelchair lift-equipped trolleys will be available.

On St. Patrick’s Day, CAT will provide some additional service to its existing routes. In addition, bus stops for the 14 Abercorn and 27 Waters Road routes will shift from under the Oglethorpe Mall parking deck to Hodgson Memorial from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. while the City of Savannah-operated St. Patrick’s Day shuttle is in service.

The routes listed below offer economical options for people wishing to get downtown and leave their vehicles at home. Westside CAT bus routes listed alight passengers in the MLK, Jr. Blvd /Broughton vicinity. East/southside buses alight and board passengers at Oglethorpe/Price.

• Wilmington Island residents can catch the 10-East Savannah and the 24-Savannah State/Wilmington Island from the Island Towne Centre area.
• From the Savannah Festival Factory Outlet/Hwy. 17 - Hwy. 204 Super Wal-Mart area, passengers may catch route 17-Silk Hope/Savannah Festival Outlet.
• Southside residents may catch the 14-Abercorn bus from the Savannah Mall area or from the bus stop at the rear of Savannah Mall.
• The Skidaway Road area is served by the 11-Candler and 31-Georgia Regional bus.
• The Waters Road area is served by the 27-Waters Road or 28-Waters Road bus.
• Westside residents can catch the 2-West Chatham or 3A and 3B-Augusta Avenue buses.

On St. Patrick's Day, all fixed-route service is on a Saturday schedule. CAT offices are open from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Telephone information will be available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. CAT Central, 124 Bull Street, will be closed.

Due to the parade, buses in downtown will detour from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and certain bus stops along the parade route will not be served between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Also, the downtown CAT Shuttle in Historic Savannah will NOT be in service on St. Patrick's Day.

The fare-free Savannah Belles Ferry will be operating from 7 a.m. until midnight on St. Patrick’s Day between the Hutchinson Island dock and the Waving Girl dock by the Savannah Marriott Riverfront. The Convention Center’s parking lot will be open to the public on March 17 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The parking fee is $10 per car per day.
