Save This PageEarlier this week, we brought you a foster mother's struggle to have her foster baby buried in her family cemetery plot here in Chatham County.
Today, the baby who would have been three in a few weeks was laid to rest at Sandra Hamilton's family plot in Woodville Cemetery.
That's what both Hamilton and the baby's biological parents wanted, but it turned into a battle with DFACs
"We had a beautiful service and I would just like to thank each and every person that helped me, gave me phone calls, sent letters to my home, you know I just can't thank anybody enough and especially to WSAV, Channel 3, I appreciate everything."
The family released balloons at the end of the service.
We will continue to follow this story and find out what went wrong with DFACs taking so long to respond to the family.
