Now, this is warm. Highs topping out in the upper 80s to the lower 90s, and it's only the beginning of May. It's not unusual, but it is above average. And hey, we don't really need this heat. We do, however, need some rain! Well, better chances could be coming soon.
For tonight, look for partly cloudy skies and very mild overnight lows in the mid 60s to the lower 70s. Winds will stay up out of the southwest, and an isolated shower or thunderstorm could pop up.
And this chance for a shower or thunderstorm could return on Friday morning. Weather models are predicting a line of showers and thunderstorms to move in between the hours of 6a.m. until around 10a.m. Keep in mind though, this may not amount to much if anything at all for most.
For the rest of Friday, we will have a mix of sun and clouds with breezy west winds and highs in the upper 80s to the lower 90s for inland areas and the mid 80s on the coast. Later in the day, sea breeze showers and thunderstorms could pop up.
An active weather pattern will then last into the weekend. Our best chance for rain looks to start late Saturday and into Sunday. This is when cooler air will move back in from the west. By next week, afternoon highs will return to the lower to mid 80s.
Keep Looking Up!
