Wednesday, May 07, 2008 - 01:15 PM
This month's student of the month from Savannah-Chatham County public schools is Windsor Forest High freshman Krystina Hendrix.
Selected for her outstanding academic performance (she's maintained a 96 average) and excellent conduct, Krystina is always a chapter ahead and challenging herself to move forward. She’s a member of the volleyball team and Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA).
"She is a hard worker and a quick learner. She also knows true school spirit. Krystina will be an asset to whatever school she chooses and will certainly be on the A-list for any college she visits," says her Social Studies teacher, Jan Pryor.
The daughter of Kelly and Mike DeCaire and John Hendrix, Krystina has a positive outlook on life with a bright future.
When asked what motivates her to strive for academic success, Krystina says, “I like learning. My greatest happiness is learning new things. I try to do better than I expect myself to do.”
Krystina will receive a plaque award, $100 savings bond from Wachovia and special recognition from Dr. Lockamy at the monthly board meeting on Wednesday, May 7.
