Monday, Feb 18, 2008 - 08:57 AM Updated: 11:11 AM
The move to digital television is a year away, but you need to do your homework before you buy a new TV or converter box.
Some salespeople are giving shoppers wrong information.
The U.S. Public Interest Research Group sent secret shoppers to more than 100 stores in ten states.
They found 81% of salespeople gave misinformation about converter boxes and 78% gave wrong information about a government coupon program which starts this week.
The digital switch goes into effect next February.
