Reward Offered for Missing 6-year-old

A $26,000 reward is now being offered for the safe return of a missing Brunswick boy.  County commissioners and a private citizen are offering the money.

On Thursday at 8:12 p.m., Glynn County Police Department Patrol Division responded to 150 Horseshoe Lane (Canal Mobile Home Park) in reference to a missing 6-year-old juvenile. Police have a staging area in the trailer park where he was last seen and are searching about a one-mile area now out from the park.

The investigation revealed that Christopher Michael Barrios Jr. is in first grade, came home from school Wednesday on the bus as usual and was playing outside. He was last seen around 6:15 PM walking in the mobile home park and did not return home. He lives with his dad and dad’s girlfriend.  Police say at this time, his mother is not a suspect.

There are an estimated 60 people right now involved in the search – Glynn County Police Department along with folks from DNR, Georgia State Patrol and search and rescue. They say there is a big canal close by.

He was last seen wearing a blue or green long sleeve shirt with a white T-shirt underneath and long black pants. He was wearing white tennis shoes with a blue stripe on the side with a velcro closure on top.

Christopher Michael Barrios Jr. is a hispanic/black male, 3'6" - 4'0", 60 - 70 lbs, with short black hair and brown eyes. The investigation continues by the Glynn County Police Department Criminal Investigation Division.
