Mike Fuori

Mike Fuori comes to WSAV from WGXA in Macon, GA. Growing up in Roswell, Georgia, he witnessed the March 1993 Superstorm, and has since become a true weather nut, with a particular interest in the challenge of forecasting the weather in the deep south. Mike graduated in 2003 from Florida State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Meteorology, and minors in math and communications, and proudly holds the Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society. Before working as Chief Meteorologist in Macon, Mike worked on-air as a student meteorologist four years for Florida State University's cable TV station, 4FSU. During his senior year, he was part of a 4-person team of students who created a live, half-hour weather show, which aired in Tallahassee five days a week. It was at Florida State where he met his future wife, Ashley, also a meteorologist. They were married in May 2004.

In his spare time, Mike loves to spend time bass fishing or doing anything outdoors, and is a huge NASCAR fan. His dad and he have not missed a race at Atlanta Motor Speedway in 20 years. Mike is looking forward to calling Savannah home, and is happy to be staying in his home state of Georgia.

In April 2006, Mike joined a short list of meteorologists throughout the country by acquiring the American Meteorological Society's newest professional designation, the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM). The CBM designation certifies that the holder meets advanced educational and experience criteria and has passed rigorous testing of their knowledge and communication of meteorology and related sciences needed to be a more effective broadcast meteorologist.
