Kris Posman is the chief meteorologist for WSAV-TV and WSAV.com. She holds a Master’s Degree in meteorology from Mississippi State University and holds the broadcast seal of approval from the American Meteorological Society.

Kris was born and raised in Alabama. After more than six years forecasting the weather extremes up north, she realized, “My heart is still in the South.”

Now the rest of her is, too. Married with two young children, Kris knew it was time to “come home” to the South. Savannah offers the perfect place for her to raise her family and serve the community. For Kris, that’s what weather forecasting is all about - serving the community, especially when things turn dangerous and as Kris says, “people’s lives are on the line.”

Kris now leads WSAV’s Storm Team 3, all meteorologists with extensive experience and state-of-the-art technology keeping us ahead of the storms, especially during hurricane season.
