Holly Bounds

It didn't take long for Holly to fall in love with the South Carolina Lowcountry! The beautiful beaches, seafood and, especially, the friendly faces won her over.

She comes to WSAV NEWS 3 as the Lowcountry Reporter with plenty of experience under her belt. She worked for South Carolina Educational Television’s regional station WJWJ-TV in Beaufort. During her time there, Holly received first place honors for Political Reporting from the Radio Television News Directors Association of the Carolinas for a 30 minute special report on the political life of the late Gov. Carroll Campbell. Holly also spent two weeks on the Gulf Coast showcasing the many ways South Carolinians helped in the Katrina relief effort. Her program from that, When They Say Storm, earned a 2006 Telly Award.

Holly's journalism journey began in high school when she wrote for her hometown newspaper, the Lee County Observer. She went on to earn a Broadcast Journalism degree with a minor in Elementary Education from the University of South Carolina. While in school, Holly started, produced and hosted a teen talk show, Extra Credit, for Richland One Television. She also worked for the South Carolina Broadcasters Association and interned at WIS-TV in Columbia.

Holly is originally from Bishopville, SC, home of the renowned Lizard Man. She likes spending time with her friends and family, trying new restaurants and traveling. Her most memorable stops are Sweden, Haiti and Puerto Rico.

Holly is very active in the community. She's a member of the Beaufort Arts and History Advocates, the Beaufort Exchange Club, and proudly serves as a taste-tester at many Lowcountry festivals.
